I'm no good in debates, I don't understand politics well and I hate confrontation but I have my opinions and sometimes staying silent on these things can give the wrong impression. So just in case you were unsure on where I stand with certain things:

  • I'm voting Remain in the EU referendum.

  • Guns (especially assault rifles) should only be used by trained professionals aka the police or similar. Stop constantly defending your rights by blaming it on "mental health" and insulting millions of people with mental issues that don't go around shooting people.

  • If you are transgender you are welcome to share a bathroom with me. TBH if you were born and still identify as male you are also welcome. Just don't try and force your way into my locked cubicle whilst I'm going about my business and it's all cool.

  • I will not judge you based on your sex, sexual orientation, race, religion, education or whether you live in the country you were born in or not. I will judge you based on whether you are a decent person or an asshole.

Sorry for the random spam posts in what Storme informs me was Russian =/ Changed my password and I don't appear to have lost any entries or info from my profile so nothing scary at least.

Although it does highlight this is what gets me to post for the first time in over 2 years... I have considered deleting this account at times but don't want to lose my history and tbh it's good to know this is here as a venting space for me if I need it and want a bit more privacy than my other sites.

I may do an actual update at some point. No promises though.

As promised in my last entry here's one all about my visist to Capcom's UK HQ last month =3

I had the amazing opportunity to visit Capcom's UK HQ and test the new HD version of Resident Evil Revelations! They wanted to celebrate Valentine's Day by getting photos of several Jill Valentine cosplayers to share on the Capcom UK and official Resident Evil facebook pages. This was also a way to promote the up-coming release of Resident Evil Revelations for PS3, Xbox, PC and Wii U. The HD release will contain several new features, updated graphics, and will support achievements/trophies through PlayStation Network, Steam and Xbox Live. I'm afraid taking photos or filming the screens whilst playing was forbidden so I cannot tell you anything about the new gameplay itself ;)
All the cosplayers were invited by Silent Studios- http://www.silent-studios.co.uk/

Photos were taken by Jason Wright, the CEO / Creative Director of Silent Studios and Neil Gorton, the Social and Community Manager at Capcom who was with us throughout the morning. Neil also requested we film a Jill Valentine Harlem Shake, I didn't know what the Harlem Shake was at the time but I think most people are aware of it now! I was unfortunatly too far off screen to be captured in the video but it was fun all the same (if very random and made no sense to me at the time lol).

Me & Chloe (PaperTiger)

Some time was spent playing the game and also we were allowed to wander around the offices a bit. They named the rooms awesome things like "Raccoon City" and the room called "The Mansion" had an entire wall with a blown up image of the mansion from RE1 on it. I fan-girled so much it was amazing! The hallway also had a giant Executioner's axe that was bigger than me! I thought the staff were probably laughing at us girls going around getting excited by everything but it seems they were excited to see us too as when we were sitting in an empty office they kept stopping in the doorway taking photos on their phones lol

To top all that off we said hello to Masachika Kawata, one of the producers of Revelations via a live video call =D

I had an awesome morning and was so grateful to be given the opportunity to visit an awesome place that has part in creating a series I love.

Cosplay wise my first event isn't until London Expo (May) as sadly Kita is not running this year and I decided I couldn't afford to go to GemuCon and the Midlands Expo is too far for just one day. I also have never been to Minami before and have no plans to tbh. That gives me a fair bit of time to start working on costumes but this year is going to be tight money-wise so I'm not sure I can afford the ones I really want to do. I'm currently saving for my trip to Egypt in April and I also need to start putting money aside so me and Sean can get a flat together later in the year, can't wait to move out!  Considering I'm still on minimum wage this doesn't leave a lot for cosplay sadly... So I make no promises as to what I do this year but I will try to get a few new costumes done as last year was rather disappointing for me. I'm currently discussing 2 costumes with a commissioner for AyaCon in August and I've started work on some smaller cosplays that are mainly made from store bought items with hardly any accessories/props ect so I shall at least have something new done even if it isn't amazing. I might be able to have a photoshoot with those before May, depends how they go.

:damphyr:  Cosplays I really want to do this year:

:bulletpink: Rebecca Chambers- Resident Evil Zero & Resident Evil: Remake
:bulletpink: Aqua- Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep
:bulletpink: Yuna- Final Fantasy X
:bulletpink: Rapunzel (pink dress)- Disney's Tangled
:bulletpink: Sailor Moon- Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (live action)

:damphyr: Easier/smaller cosplays that I might actually manage:

:bulletblue: Rinoa Heartilly- Final Fantasy VIII - Version 4!
:bulletblue: Saria- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
:bulletblue: Kairi (school uniform)- Kingdom Hearts II
:bulletblue: Sara Sidle- CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
:bulletblue: Hermione Granger (hoody & jeans)- Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

I'm hoping to have Hermione done within the next month for a private shoot and I've been looking into bits for Saria and Rinoa as well as I would like to wear one of those to Expo along with Rebecca if I have the money/time to complete her by then. Ideally I wanted Aqua done as soon as possible but I don't think Sean will be taking Terra to Expo so she shall be worn to Aya instead.

I also have quite a few ongoing projects that are sitting in my "to do" box on my floor that I have a habit of ignoring... This includes things like finishing the details to my Umbrella Chronicles Jill jacket, Kairi's keyblade, Kingdom Hearts uniform (I have all the materials), seeing if my old formal Alice dress is suitable for Julia Heartilly etc. They are things that I should be making time for but because none of the costumes have a set date they lack priority... But I really shouldn't leave them lying around unfinished as then I will rush and panic when I DO need them (i.e. snow = Jill jacket needs to be done to get photos in it). Bad Leo.

You can follow my cosplay progress on my Cosplay Island account but you might need to give me a few weeks to update it....

On Wednesday 7th March I went to see Disney on Ice presents Princesses & Heroes at Wembley Arena! Dan kiwi_dan got me a ticket for my birthday and my mum paid some money towards it. Emma (Myu) had a ticket too but had to pull out on the day due to personal reasons and we weren't able to find someone to take her seat at such short notice. I wish she could of been there =(
Cut due to photosCollapse )

Show ended around 8.30pm and we all headed straight home as I think we all had work the next day. So glad I got to go, might have to go again next year =)
